Born in Texas, she studied journalism at the University of Texas at Austin before pursuing a career in advertising. In 1980, Thomas published her first novel, "Sweet Annie Laurie," which launched her successful career as a romance author. She has since written over 50 novels that have been translated into multiple languages and sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
