Jodi Thomas (born October 19, 1950) is an American writer specializing in contemporary romance novels. Born in Texas, she studied journalism at the University of Texas at Austin before pursuing a career in advertising. In 1980, Thomas published her first novel, "Sweet Annie Laurie," which launched her successful career as a romance author. She has since written over 50 novels that have been translated into multiple languages and sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Thomas's works are known for their heartwarming stories, strong female characters, and vivid descriptions of the American West. She has received numerous awards for her writing, including the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award in 2011 and the RITA Hall of Fame Award in 2019. Her novels have been critical successes, with Publishers Weekly praising her "impeccable research" and "unforgettable characters."
