Elizabeth Lowell was born Ann Elizabeth Buckalew in 1948 in Richmond, Virginia. A graduate of William & Mary College, she began writing in 1978 and has since published over 75 novels. She has won numerous awards for her writing, including the Romance Writers of America's Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998 and the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award in 2004.
