About D.E. Stevenson
D. E. Stevenson (1892-1973) was a prolific British author of over 60 novels, many of which were set in Scotland. Born in Edinburgh, she traveled extensively and drew inspiration from her experiences for her writing. Her novels are known for their charming settings, gentle humor, and well-developed characters. Stevenson's most famous work is "The Five Jars" (1944), which won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. This novel tells the story of a group of women who form a close friendship during World War II.
