Inspector Zhang

Stephen Leather is a British author known for his action thrillers and crime novels. Born in 1956, he initially worked as a journalist and copywriter before pursuing writing full-time. Leather's debut novel, "The Chinaman," was published in 1992 and introduced the character of Dan "Spider" Shepherd, an intelligence officer. The novel became an international bestseller and spawned a series of sequels featuring Shepherd.
