About Veronica Roth

Veronica Roth (born August 19, 1988) is an American author best known for her dystopian novel series, "Divergent." Roth was born in New York City and graduated from Northwestern University, where she studied creative writing. Her debut novel, "Divergent," was published in 2011 and became an instant bestseller. It was followed by two sequels, "Insurgent" (2012) and "Allegiant" (2013). The "Divergent" series has been translated into over 50 languages and has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Roth's work has received critical acclaim. "Divergent" was named one of the "100 Best Novels for Young Adults" by the American Library Association and has been adapted into three films. Roth has also won the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction and the British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year.
