Dean Koontz (born July 9, 1945) is an American author whose works span multiple genres, including horror, suspense, thrillers, and science fiction. Born in Everett, Pennsylvania, Koontz began writing in the early 1960s while serving in the Army. He published his first novel, "Star Quest," in 1968 and has since written over 100 books.
