Simon Kernick (born 1966) is a British author of crime thrillers. Born in Slough, England, he worked as an accountant before turning to writing full-time in 1998. Kernick's breakthrough novel, "The Business of Dying," was published in 2002 and introduced Detective Inspector Dennis Milne. Milne has since featured in several successful sequels, including "Deadline" (2004) and "In the Heat of the Night" (2018).
