Peter F. Hamilton (born March 2, 1960) is a British science fiction author known for his ambitious and complex space operas. Born in Rutland, England, Hamilton worked various jobs before turning to writing full-time in 1993. His debut novel, "Mindstar Rising," launched the Confederation Universe series, which garnered critical acclaim for its epic scope and intricate worldbuilding. Hamilton's subsequent works include the "Pandora's Star" and "The Commonwealth Saga" series. He has won numerous awards, including the British Science Fiction Award (four times) and the Philip K. Dick Award.
