F. Paul Wilson (born May 17, 1950) is an American author best known for his horror and suspense novels. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Wilson graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in biology. He then worked as a research scientist before turning to writing full-time. Wilson's first novel, "Healer," was published in 1976 and introduced the character Repairman Jack, a former government operative who now helps those in need.
