Ben Bova was born on November 8, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He is a highly prolific American science fiction author and editor. He has written 120 novels and 100 short stories, as well as many nonfiction books and articles on science, technology, and the future of humanity. He is best known for his "Grand Tour" series of novels, which explore the first human expeditions to other planets in our solar system. His work has won numerous awards, including the Hugo, Nebula, and John W. Campbell Memorial Awards. He served as president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America from 1975-1977. He is a member of the National Space Society and the American Philosophical Society. He remains an influential figure in the science fiction community, admired for his extensive knowledge of science and his ability to write both engaging and thought-provoking stories. Today, he lives in Florida and continues to be creatively active.
