**Faith Hunter** (born 1959) is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling American author of urban fantasy and paranormal romance novels. Before becoming an author, Hunter worked as a civil engineer, public health engineer, and teacher. Her first novel, "Bloodring," was published in 2007, introducing readers to the popular vampire heroine Jane Yellowrock. The series has since spanned over 20 novels, earning critical acclaim for its strong female lead and intricate world-building. Hunter has also written several spin-off series set in the same universe, including the "Soulwood" and "Dark Queen" series.
