Solar Queen

Andre Norton (1912-2005) was an American science fiction and fantasy author who penned over 300 books under various pseudonyms. Born Alice Norton, she began writing as Andre Norton to avoid gender bias in the publishing industry. Her first novel, "The Prince Commands," was published in 1934. She later became known for her Witch World series and her collaborations with other authors, including Marion Zimmer Bradley and Mercedes Lackey. Norton received the Grand Master Award from the Science Fiction Writers of America in 1984, recognizing her lifetime achievement in the genre. Her works garnered critical acclaim for their deft world-building, exploration of female characters, and enduring appeal. Her legacy continues to inspire generations of readers.
