Felix Francis (born December 3, 1950) is a British author known for his crime fiction and mysteries. He is the son of Dick Francis, who was also a famous crime writer. Growing up, Francis was immersed in horse racing as his father was a steeplechase jockey turned trainer. Francis' early experiences at the racetrack influenced his writing later in life. After graduating, Francis worked as a chartered accountant and then as a management consultant. However, he eventually decided to pursue his passion for writing. Francis's debut novel, "Twice Shy," was published in 1989 and introduced the character of Sid Halley, a young racing detective. His subsequent novels, including "Driven to Kill" and "High Stakes," have also featured Halley as the protagonist. Francis has received critical acclaim for his fast-paced and suspenseful writing style. His books have been translated into several languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide.
