Erik Larsen is a renowned American comic book artist and writer, known for his contributions to Image Comics and Marvel. Born in 1962, Larsen began drawing at an early age and studied art at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He rose to prominence in the 1980s as a member of the independent art collective, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' studios, where he co-created the popular characters Raph and Casey Jones. In 1992, Larsen co-founded Image Comics, known for its creator-owned titles. His most notable work is "The Savage Dragon" series, which he has written and illustrated for over 250 issues. Larsen has received numerous awards and nominations for his work, including the Wizard Fan Award for Favorite Inker (1994) and the Gem Award for Best Independent Ongoing Comic (1988). His art has been praised for its dynamic and energetic style, and his storytelling for its humor and action.
