Richard Baker (born 1960) is an American author and game designer. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Baker began his career in 1985 as a freelance writer for TSR, Inc., the publisher of the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. He has since written hundreds of articles and books for TSR and its successors, Wizards of the Coast and Paizo Publishing. Baker is best known for his work on the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, in particular the novels he co-authored with Ed Greenwood, such as "The Last Mythal" and "Pool of Radiance: The Ruins of Myth Drannor." He has also written a number of standalone novels, including "The Shadow Stone" and "The Wyrm's Wrath." Baker has won several awards for his work, including two Origins Awards and a Golden Geek Award. He is also a member of the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design Hall of Fame.
