Stuart Melvin Kaminsky (1934-2009) was an American crime fiction writer. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Illinois. Kaminsky wrote over 60 novels, many of which featured police detective Abe Lieberman and private investigator Toby Peters. His works were praised for their humor, compelling characters, and intricate plots. Kaminsky received numerous awards for his writing, including the Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America and the Shamus Award from the Private Eye Writers of America. He was also a recipient of the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America in 2006, the highest honor given to mystery writers. His work has been translated into over 20 languages.
