Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus

Faye Kellerman (born June 30, 1952) is an American mystery writer known for her suspenseful and well-researched novels. A native of Los Angeles, Kellerman studied psychology and religious studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. She worked as a preschool teacher before beginning her writing career. Her breakout novel, "The Ritual Bath," was published in 1986 and introduced Detective Peter Decker and his wife, Rina Lazarus. The series has been praised for its complex characters, intricate plots, and nuanced exploration of Jewish themes. Kellerman has received numerous awards for her work, including the Edgar Award for Best Mystery Novel (2007) and the Shamus Award (three times).
