Beverly Barton (1937-2010) was an American author known for her historical and romantic novels set in the American West. Her 1995 novel "The Edge of Heaven" won the Golden Spur Award and was made into a television miniseries. Barton's other notable works include "Broken Lance" (1993), "Echoes in the Stone" (1997), and "The Last Dance" (2000). Barton's novels were praised for their vivid descriptions of the Old West and their complex and well-developed characters. She received numerous awards throughout her career, including the Western Writers of America Spur Award for Best Historical Novel in 1995 and 1997. Her books have been translated into several languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide.
