Jeffery Deaver is an American author known for his suspenseful thrillers featuring Lincoln Rhyme, a quadriplegic criminalist. Born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, in 1950, Deaver developed his writing skills early on as a journalist and lawyer. He turned to fiction in the late 1990s with his debut novel, "The Bone Collector," which introduced Rhyme and became a bestseller. Deaver has written over 30 novels, including the "John Pellam" series and standalone thrillers like "The Garden of Beasts" and "The Devil's Teardrop." His work has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Anthony Award for Best Novel in 2003 for "The Vanished Man." Deaver's books have been translated into more than 25 languages and adapted into several films and television series. His writing is praised for its intricate plotting, psychological suspense, and realistic characters.
