Born in White Plains, New York, in 1947, she began her writing career as a journalist. Her debut novel, "Mallory's Oracle," introduced Lady Julia Grey, a widowed psychic investigator who solves crimes in London's high society. O'Connell has written over 20 books in the Lady Julia Grey series, praised for their well-developed characters, gripping plots, and vivid historical atmosphere.
