About Giles Blunt
Giles Blunt is a Canadian mystery and thriller author known for his Cardinal and John Cardinal series. Born in 1957 in North Bay, Ontario, he worked as a lawyer and journalist before turning to writing full-time. Blunt's Cardinal series features Detective Cardinal and his partner Lise Delorme as they investigate crimes in Algonquin Bay, a small town in northern Ontario. The first book in the series, "Forty Words for Sorrow," won the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award in 2009. The subsequent books in the series have also been critically acclaimed, with "The Lost" winning the Hammett Prize. Blunt's work has been praised for its atmospheric depictions of rural Canada, its well-developed characters, and its gripping plots.
