Ken Bruen (born 1951) is an Irish crime novelist and poet. Born in Galway, he has lived in London, Amsterdam, New York, and Los Angeles before settling in Kinsale, Ireland. Bruen is best known for his Jack Taylor series, featuring a former Garda (Irish police officer) who has become a private detective in Galway. The series has been praised for its dark humor, strong characters, and gritty portrayal of life in Ireland.
