Jessica Bird, known as J.R. Ward, is an American author of paranormal romance novels. Born in Massachusetts in 1969, she initially worked as a lawyer before pursuing her writing passion. Ward's notable works include the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, featuring vampire warriors in Caldwell, New York.
