About Dan Simmons
Dan Simmons is an American science fiction and horror writer. Born in 1948 in Peoria, Illinois, he studied English and Literature before teaching high school and working as an editor. In 1982, Simmons published his debut novel, "Song of Kali", which won the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel. He gained wider recognition with his 1985 novel "Hyperion", the first book in a science fiction quadrilogy. Simmons has written numerous critically acclaimed works, including "The Terror" (2007), a fictionalized account of the Franklin Expedition, and "The Abominable" (2013), a historical horror novel. His work often explores themes of religion, history, and the human condition. Simmons has received multiple awards, including the World Fantasy Award, the Bram Stoker Award, and the Locus Award.
