Gordon Rupert Dickson (1923-2001) was a Canadian-American science fiction and fantasy writer. His career spanned over four decades, and he is best known for his "Dorsai" series, which explores the concept of a warrior society. Dickson also wrote several other popular series, including the "Childe Cycle," the "Lost Dorsai," and the "Dragonknight" series. His work was noted for its strong characterization and its exploration of complex themes such as identity, loyalty, and the nature of good and evil. Dickson received several awards for his writing, including the Hugo Award and the Nebula Award.
