Jayne Castle is a British crime writer and former police officer. Born in London, she served in the Metropolitan Police for over twenty years, including roles in murder investigations and child protection. Upon retiring from the police, Castle turned her experiences into a successful writing career. Her debut novel, "The Killing House," won the Crime Writers' Association's Debut Dagger Award in 2016. She has since written several more critically acclaimed crime thrillers featuring Detective Sergeant Kate Burkholder.
