David Lynn Golemon (1955-2011) was an American author and poet known for his speculative fiction and dark fantasy works. Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Golemon's early life was shrouded in tragedy. His father died when he was only two, and he was raised in poverty by his mother. Despite these challenges, Golemon excelled in literature and earned a degree in English from the University of Alaska. His breakthrough novel, "The Luck of the Draw" (1985), received critical acclaim for its intricate world-building and haunting prose. He went on to publish several more novels, including "The Nightmare Factory" (1988) and "The Ritual" (1990), which further established his reputation as a master of darkness and the occult. Golemon's work earned him multiple Bram Stoker Awards from the Horror Writers Association. He was also recognized for his poetry, including the Rhysling Award for his poem "The Prisoner." David Lynn Golemon's tragic death in 2011 at the age of 56 cut short a promising career, but his legacy as a gifted and unsettling storyteller lives on.
