Ethan Gage

William Dietrich is an American author known for his historical fiction and essays. Born in 1951 in Philadelphia, he studied literature at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Washington. Dietrich's notable works include the novel "The Emerald Mile" (2000), which won the Western Writers of America Spur Award for Best Western Historical Novel. His other novels include "Ghost Town" (1998), "The Dakota Cipher" (2002), and "The Rosetta Key" (2006). Dietrich has also published several collections of essays, including "The Final Forest" (1992) and "In the Wake of the Whale" (2021). His writing has received critical acclaim for its evocative language, thoughtful exploration of history, and insights into the human condition.
