Dorothy Cannell (1911-1998) was an American writer known for her mystery and suspense novels. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she began writing in her 40s. Cannell's debut novel, "Sorry, Wrong Number" (1948), established her as a master of suspense. It was adapted into a successful Broadway play and a Hollywood film.
