Douglas Adams (1952-2001) was a renowned English author, humorist, and dramatist. Born in Cambridge, Adams began writing for the BBC as a radio producer and script editor. His breakout novel, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," became an instant global phenomenon, selling millions of copies and spawning a popular radio series, television adaptations, and a film. The series follows the adventures of Arthur Dent, a hapless Englishman who travels the universe with an eccentric alien guidebook.
