Ben Aaronovitch (born 1964) is an English urban fantasy and crime thriller author. A former corporate lawyer, he is best known for the Rivers of London series, featuring Peter Grant, a young police officer and apprentice wizard. Aaronovitch's work has received critical acclaim for its blend of fantasy, crime, and humor. He has won multiple awards, including the inaugural Prometheus Award for Best Novel (2011) and the British Fantasy Award for Best Novel (2012) for "Moon Over Soho." His work has also been praised for its accurate portrayal of London and its diverse characters. Outside of the Rivers of London series, Aaronovitch has also written several standalone novels, including "Whispers of the Dead" (2006) and "The Furthest Station" (2017).
