John Lescroart is an American author best known for his legal thrillers and mystery novels. Born in 1948 in Duluth, Minnesota, he earned degrees from the University of Minnesota and the University of San Francisco Law School. Lescroart's legal background heavily influences his writing. He has been a practicing lawyer, prosecutor, and teacher. His debut novel, "Son of Holmes," introduced Detective Wyatt Hunt, who became the protagonist of multiple series. Lescroart has also written numerous stand-alone novels and short stories. His works have garnered critical acclaim, earning him the Edgar Award for Best Mystery Novel in 2019 for "The Missing Piece." Lescroart's books have sold over 30 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 20 languages.
