Darkover Series with Mercedes Lackey

Marion Zimmer Bradley (1930-1999) was an American fantasy and science fiction author. She is best known for her "Darkover" series, a long-running space opera set on a fictional planet. Bradley also wrote extensively about Arthurian legend, including the influential "Mists of Avalon" (1982). Her work has been praised for its depth of characterization and its exploration of feminist themes. Bradley was born in Albany, New York. She began writing at a young age and published her first story in 1952. She was a prolific author, publishing over 50 novels and numerous short stories. She won the Balrog Award for Best Novel in 1983 for "The Mists of Avalon" and the Mythopoeic Award for Adult Fantasy in 1984 for "The Shattered Chain." Bradley's work has been translated into over 20 languages and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
