Rachel Gibson (born September 4, 1965) is an American author known for her contemporary romance novels. Born in Rochester, New York, Gibson moved to North Carolina as a child. She graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in English. After working in the medical field and the restaurant business, she sold her first novel, "Duke," in 2003. Gibson has published over 20 novels, including the popular "Chinooks" series and the "Sweet Magnolia" series. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and have sold over 2 million copies worldwide. Gibson has received numerous awards for her work, including the RITA Award for Best Novel in 2004 and 2008. Her books have also been featured on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists.
