Christopher Redmayne

Edward Marston is a British author known for his historical mystery novels and historical fiction. He was born in Surrey, England in 1940 and developed a passion for reading and writing from a young age. Marston's debut novel, "An Ill Wind," was published in 1975 and introduced Detective Superintendent Harry Dobbs, a recurring character in several of his subsequent works. He has written over 40 novels, including the "Railway Detective" and "Home Front Detective" series, set during World War II. Marston's novels have garnered critical acclaim for their well-researched historical settings, intricate plots, and engaging characters. He has won numerous awards, including the Crime Writers' Association's Gold Dagger Award for "Reputation for Violence" (1981) and the Historical Dagger Award for "The Railway Detective" (1998).
