Cara Black is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author known for her popular Aimée Leduc mystery series set in Paris. Black was born in Chicago and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. She began writing in 1999 after a successful career in advertising. The first book in her Aimée Leduc series, "Murder in the Marais" (2006), introduced readers to a young private investigator working in Paris's 3rd arrondissement. The series has received critical acclaim for its strong characters, sense of place, and suspenseful plots. Black has written over 20 novels in the series, which have been translated into more than 30 languages. In addition to the Aimée Leduc books, she has also written two short-story collections and a memoir, "Bonjour, Paris!" (2018). Black has won numerous awards for her work, including seven Agatha Awards, two Macavity Awards, and the Barry Award.
