Bruce Sterling (born 1954) is an American science fiction author known for his cyberpunk works. Born in Brownsville, Texas, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a journalist before pursuing writing full-time. Sterling's early novels include "Involution Ocean" (1977) and "Schismatrix" (1985). He gained wide recognition with the cyberpunk classic "Neuromancer" (1984), co-written with William Gibson. Sterling's works explore themes of technology, progress, and the future. He has won numerous awards, including the Hugo Award, the Nebula Award, and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award.
