Barbara Delinsky (born December 14, 1945) is an American author best known for her contemporary romance novels. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Delinsky began writing as a teenager. After graduating from college, she worked as a teacher and a social worker. In 1984, she published her first novel, "A Woman Betrayed," which became a bestseller. Since then, she has written over 100 novels, many of which have been translated into multiple languages. Delinsky's novels have received critical acclaim for their strong characters, heartwarming stories, and realistic portrayal of relationships. She has won numerous awards, including the Romance Writers of America's RITA Award and the Booksellers Best Award. In addition to her writing, Delinsky is also a philanthropist and public speaker. She supports various charities, including the Barbara Delinsky Foundation Fund, which provides grants to organizations that support women and families.
