Sharon Lee is an American science fiction and fantasy author, best known for her long-running Liaden Universe series. Born in 1952, Lee began writing in the early 1980s, and her first novel, "Agent of Change", was published in 1988. Since then, she has written over 30 novels and dozens of short stories. Lee's work has been praised for its complex characters, compelling storylines, and rich world-building. Her Liaden Universe series has been particularly successful, with over 20 novels and several short story collections. Lee has won numerous awards for her work, including the John W. Campbell Memorial Award for Best Science Fiction Novel (1993) for "Beggars in Spain" and the Nebula Award for Best Novella (2003) for "The Ship Who Sang". Her work has also been nominated for the Hugo, Locus, and World Fantasy Awards.
