Janet Dailey (1944-2013) was an American romance novelist who authored over 90 novels and sold more than 300 million copies worldwide. Born in Storm Lake, Iowa, she began writing at a young age and published her first novel in 1975. Dailey wrote prolifically across various subgenres of romance, including historical, contemporary, and suspense. Her notable works include the "Calhoun" series, the "Montana Mavericks" series, and "Ride the Thunder." Her books have been translated into dozens of languages and adapted into several television series and movies. Dailey received numerous awards for her work, including the Romance Writers of America Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Her books are praised for their well-developed characters, evocative settings, and page-turning plots.
