Lemony Snicket, a pen name for Daniel Handler, is an American author best known for his children's book series "A Series of Unfortunate Events." Born in San Francisco, California, Handler dropped out of college to pursue a career in music but later turned to writing. He adopted the pseudonym Lemony Snicket in 1999 when his first book in the "Unfortunate Events" series was published. The series, consisting of 13 main installments, follows the harrowing adventures of the Baudelaire orphans narrated by the mysterious and pessimistic Snicket.
