**Scott Lynch** (born April 22, 1978) is an American author best known for his fantasy series, "The Gentlemen Bastards Sequence." Lynch earned a degree in economics from the University of Minnesota but later pursued writing. His debut novel, "The Lies of Locke Lamora," was published in 2006, introducing readers to a world of thieves, con artists, and magic. The novel received critical acclaim, earning comparisons to Patrick Rothfuss and George R.R. Martin. Lynch has followed up with two additional novels in the series: "Red Seas Under Red Skies" (2007) and "The Republic of Thieves" (2013). He was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel for both "Lies of Locke Lamora" and "Red Seas Under Red Skies." Lynch's writing is known for its inventive characters, witty dialogue, and atmospheric worldbuilding.
