Matt Coyle is an American crime writer whose atmospheric thrillers are set in the Pacific Northwest. A former journalist, he draws upon his experiences to provide both suspense and a deep sense of place. Coyle's debut novel, "Yesterday's Echo," introduced Detective Rick Cahill, a complex character haunted by a tragic past. The book was praised for its taut plotting, vivid characters, and evocative setting. Coyle has continued to write in the Cahill series, including "Dark Fissures" and "Deadfall."
