About the Author
David Nicholls (born 30 November 1966) is a British author, screenwriter, and playwright. Born in Bristol, he studied English at the University of Bristol and worked as a waiter and English teacher before becoming a full-time writer. His breakthrough novel, "Starter for Ten" (2003), was adapted into a successful film. He gained further recognition for "One Day" (2009), which became an international bestseller and was also adapted into a film. Nicholls has also written several other novels, including "Sweet Sorrow" (2005), "The Understudy" (2012), and "Us" (2014). Nicholls has received numerous awards for his work, including the British Book Awards Literary Fiction Award for "One Day" and the Richard & Judy Summer Read for "Us." His novels have been praised for their relatable characters, insightful observations on relationships, and engaging narratives.
