Daniel Easterman (born 1959) is an English novelist, short story writer, and critic. Born in London, Easterman studied English at Oxford University. His debut novel, "The Seventh Sanctuary" (1988), was a critical success, winning the Betty Trask Award. He has since published eight more novels, including "The Lost Pilgrim" (1991), "The House of Shadows" (1994), and "The Last Assassin" (2019). His work has been praised for its intricate plotting, rich characterization, and atmospheric settings. Easterman is also a respected critic and essayist. His non-fiction works include "The Author's Guide to Historical Fiction" (2001) and "The Writer's Idea Book" (2006). He has been a regular contributor to The Guardian, The Independent, and The Times Literary Supplement. Easterman's writing has been widely translated and adapted for television. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a member of the Crime Writers' Association.
