D. K. Hood was a British author who lived from 1923 to 2009. He is best known for his historical novels, particularly those set in the Tudor period. Hood was born in London and served in the Royal Air Force during World War II. After the war, he worked as a journalist and then as a writer for television and film. He began writing historical novels in the 1950s, and his first novel, "The King's Favourite," was published in 1957. Hood's novels are known for their vivid historical detail and their engaging characters. He has been praised for his ability to bring the past to life and to make history accessible to a wide audience.
