Alison Goodman is a New Zealand author known for her young adult fantasy novels. Born in Auckland, she holds a degree in English literature and creative writing from the University of Auckland. Goodman's debut novel, "Eon: Dragoneye Reborn," was published in 2008 and became an instant bestseller. It was followed by sequels "Eona: The Last Dragoneye" (2009) and "Eona: The Rise of the Dragoneye" (2011). The Eon trilogy follows the story of Eona, a young woman who discovers she is a Dragoneye, a descendant of an ancient warrior race. Goodman has also written the Song of the Lioness quartet, a prequel to the Eon trilogy, and the Lady Helen and the Dark Days trilogy. Her books have been translated into over 30 languages and have received numerous awards, including the New Zealand Post Children's Book Awards and the Aurealis Award.
